PINK-O de MAYO, The Party For A Purpose, was one such occasion that I had the privilege to be a part of as an event photographer. Glam-A-THON™, the breast cancer charity that organized PINK-O de MAYO, embraced Wendi Bieber's vision and the importance of empowering women in the fight against breast cancer. With style, sass, and fabulous heels, Glam-A-THON™ raised funds for women currently battling breast cancer and supported local area hospitals. The UM Sylvester Cancer Center, a renowned institution leading the fight against cancer, received the proceeds from PINK-O de MAYO. Dr. Alejandra Perez, a distinguished breast cancer expert, and her team at the new CARE (Cancer Assessment Risk Evaluation) Clinic benefitted from the funds raised during the event. Wendi’s involvement reinforced the significance of their work in providing cutting-edge treatments and support to patients. PINK-O de MAYO was not just a celebration of life, but also a platform to advocate for the importance and relevance thats needed for Patient Support Services. As an event photographer, I had the honor of capturing the essence of this remarkable gathering, immortalizing moments of hope, strength, and unity. Wendi Sugarman Bieber, the creator, founder and gracious host of PINK-O de MAYO, brought an extraordinary perspective to the event as a Stage 3 breast cancer survivor and advocate for the vital necessity of Patient Support Services as well as the CARE (Cancer Assessment Risk Evaluation) Clinic dedicated in the necessary surveillance for high risk, genetic, and other risks towards a Breast Cancer diagnosis. She has brought her advocacy and devotion as the visionary of PINK-O de MAYO, “the party for a purpose” which has brought her personal journey and unwavering dedication of the cause to the forefront.
The combined efforts of Wendi Bieber, Tracy Cohen, Joe Martinez, MJ Events, Glam-A-THON™, Teremana Smalll Batch Tequila, E11VEN Vodka, and the other impressive vendors, sponsors and supporters created a powerful synergy that transcended the event itself. PINK-O de MAYO reminded us of the importance of unity, resilience, and advocating for breast cancer prevention and awareness. It was an honor to be a part of an event that not only touched the lives of many but also left a lasting impact on the fight against breast cancer. Together, we stand united in our commitment to support those affected by this disease and work towards a future free from its grip.
